Rnb singer John Legend and former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks paid a moving tribute to late pop singer and actress Whitney Houston at the 2012 Billboard Awards on Monday.
The two soulful singers took to the stage singing renditions of Houston’s greatest hits such as ‘Greatest love of all’ and ‘I will always love you’.
Billboard also honoured Houston with a Millenium award which was accepted by Houston’s sister-inlaw Pat Houston and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us through it all, not only when it was good but also when it was bad, just everything, thank u so much for showing that much love because she deserved it,” a tearful Bobbi Kristina said.
“Im just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman’s life, there will never be another one,” Bobbi said.
Bobbi Kristina Brown is Houston’s daughter with ex husband and Rnb singer Bobby Brown.
Fans not only heard Whitney’s biggest hits which defined her career but according to NYDaily news.com fans will get to hear the sognstress’ voice in a soundtrack for her last movie role ‘Sparkle’ with a duet with co-star Jordin Sparks.
The song which was premiered on Monday on TV host Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, was recorded just days before Houston’s death in Frebruary, the NYDaily news.com.
Whitney Houston,48, was found dead in a Beverley Hills hotel room in February 11.
One of the producers for the movie ‘Sparkle‘ Harvey Mason Jr. told People magazine, that the singer was excited while working on the soundtrack.
“She got in the booth, started her vocal session with a prayer as she always did, and worked for about three to four hours,”
“We ended the session dancing around the control room while she said ‘Turn it up! Turn it up!’ She was so fun-loving,”Mason told the magazine.
